Taft College has canceled the remainder of the 2021 softball season due to injuries. The Cougars optimistically opened the spring schedule with just 12 players on the roster but were left with not enough to field a complete lineup.
TC played eight games this season, compiling a 1-7 overall record. Taft's lone win of the year came at Merced College, a 13-5, six-inning victory on April 22.
The Cougars were set to host Merced in a Central Valley Conference doubleheader this afternoon before the difficult decision was made to halt play. They were originally scheduled to play 21 games this season.
