Women's Basketball Finishes 0-3 At COS Tournament

 

With three losses at the Gilcrest tournament in Visalia last week, the Reedley College women's basketball team saw it's record drop to 2-7.

The Tigers will take a five-game losing streak into three games in the Los Angeles Harbor Showcase this week. They will face three teams with a combined record of 1-11. On Thursday at 8 pm, Reedley faces Golden West (0-3) before facing another 0-3 team, Palo Verde, on Friday at noon. The road trip concludes with a noon game on Sunday against Orange Coast College. The Pirates are 1-5.

Reedley opened the tournament with a 68-42 loss to Mount San Antonio College. Amanpreet Kaur led the Tigers with 12 points. Tristan Randall added 11 points off the bench while Chasity Martinez contributed 10.

Reedley was held to a season-low of 31 points in a 49-31 loss to LA Valley on Friday. The Tigers trailed by only two points through the first quarter before managing only a free throw by Annie Lopez in the second period. LA Valley scored the last 10 points of the first half. Randle had 10 points to lead the Tiger attack.

On Saturday, Reedley dropped an 83-62 decision to College of the Canyons. Sam Mendoza led the Tigers with 20 points while Breanna Jones added 12, making 7 of 10 free throws.
