Women's Basketball Loses Two At COS

After scoring 119 points in the season opener, the Reedley College women's basketball Tigers scored 120 points in two losses at the College of the Sequoias Crossover in Visalia last weekend.

Last Friday, Reedley dropped a 71-67 decision to Folsom Lake. The Lady Tigers led 30-29 at halftime before being outscored 23-18 in the third quarter. Sam Mendoza led Reedley with 19 points but had eight turnovers. Amanpreet Kaur (Fowler) recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Annie Lopez and Tristan Randle both finished with 10 points.

Free throw shooting hurt the Lady Tigers, as they were only 17 of 39 for 43.6 percent.

On Saturday, Reedley dropped a 67-53 decision to a talented Cerritos College squad. Lopez led the Tigers with 16 points.

This week, Reedley heads to Southern California for three games. On Friday at 5 pm, the Lady Tigers face a 2-4 Antelope Valley squad before a 3 pm Saturday contest at West Los Angeles College. The Wildcats were tied for 10th in a preseason Southern California poll but have started the season at 1-2.

Next Tuesday, Reedley heads to Santa Maria for a 3pm matchup with the 2-3 Allan Hancock College Bulldogs.
