Approaching the midway point of the CVC schedule, Merced leads the conference standings at 5-0. The Blue Devils are currently riding a 15-game winning streak, including a decisive 90-70 victory over Sequoias in a first-place battle. COS is right behind at 4-1, followed by Fresno and Reedley tied at 3-2.

Women's Basketball Featured Athlete: Malaya Kendrick, Merced
Freshman guard Malaya Kendrick has been a leader on the court and in the box score for the Blue Devils this season. As of Jan. 30, she leads the CVC averaging 10.6 rebounds over five conference games. Kendrick also ranks third in scoring at 16.4 points per game. Her 18 steals rank second among the CVC while her 18 assists are fourth.

Kendrick has scored in double figures in 21 of 22 games this season and has posted 11 double-doubles. In a recent win over Taft, Kendrick totaled 21 points and 17 rebounds.
