Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Baseball Team defeated Taft College 8-2 on Tuesday, January 28. With this win, the Mounties improve to 2-0, while the Cougars fall to 0-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Taft got on the board in the first inning when Roman Roberts drove in Odnal Rivera and Ty Moore on a single and a Mt. SAC error. However, that would be the only offense the Cougars could generate.
The Mounties responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first with a double from Landon White bringing in Bryan Bradshaw and a single from Ty Thomas that brought in White, leveling the score.
Mt. SAC continued to bring the heat in the third inning with a four-run surge, fueled by a Thomas triple and RBI singles from Jackson Giacone and Miguel Perez. The Mounties sealed the deal with a solo home run from Bradshaw in the sixth and a daring steal of home by Giacone in the seventh, giving Mt. SAC a six-run advantage.
