VENTURA – Amaya Sanchez posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Yuliza Padilla scored a game-high 21 points to help lead the West Hills College Lemoore women's basketball team to a 73-46 win over Napa Valley College on Saturday to close out the three-day Ventura College Kiwanis Club Classic.
West Hills was able to bounce back after suffering consecutive losses to Antelope Valley (72-55) and host Ventura (63-50).
Sanchez nearly posted a triple-double against Napa Valley as she added 7 assists to her big game. Padilla totaled 5 rebounds and 4 assists to go with her 21 points. Jezza Tamayo contributed 16 points and Nyomi Soliz chipped in with 10 rebounds.
In the Ventura loss, Padilla, Sanchez, and Tamayo all scored 12 points each. Sanchez opened the tourney with a solid game against Antelope Valley on Thursday with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
West Hills, now 2-4 overall, returns to action on Dec. 2 to host Antelope Valley in a 3 p.m. non-conference game at Golden Eagle Arena.
