ARC Men's tennis took their annual trip to Fresno, CA to compete against Fresno City College and Fresno Pacific University. Due to the rain, the Beavers were forced to push back the Fresno City match and play both teams as a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15^th. In the early match, the Beavers were dominant against the NorCal #3 ranked Fresno City team. Standout singles performances included Gavin Sonntag (#1) and Landon Arendt (#5). Sonntag defeated the tough Fresno City #1, Robbie Ellis, winning by the score of 6-2, 6-1. Arendt had a clean all-court performance, not losing a singles game, and working points to finish at the net repeatedly.

Immediately after beating Fresno City, the Beavers travelled to Fresno Pacific University to take on the NCAA DII #37 ranked Sunbirds. ARC lost the doubles point, with the #3 team of Landon Arendt/Declan Moley competing exceptionally well, before falling 7-5. The singles was a different story, as the Beavers rolled to fast victories at #4 (Arjun Sivakumar), and #2 (Gavin Sonntag). Sivakumar lost only 3 games in an overwhelming performance over Pablo Zubieta. Sonntag played the hard-hitting Cedric Kaufmann, and was able to absorb his power and outwork him from neutral. With the Beavers down 2-3 in the overall dual match, #1 singles (Enrique Silveira) and #3 singles (Tarang Sharma) each split sets and headed to a third. If they had been able to win both matches, the Beavers would have pulled off a huge upset victory, but they split the matches, with Sharma prevailing 7-6(5) in the third set for another huge win over a four-year university for Sharma. Over the last two years, Sharma has won matches versus William Jessup, UC Santa Cruz, Menlo College, and Fresno Pacific.

The Beavers will next begin play in the Big 8 Conference playoffs. ARC will be the #1 seed, earning a bye in the first round and playing the winner of Diablo Valley and Solano in the semifinals on Tuesday, March 18^th.
