The West Hills College Lemoore women's basketball team picked up two more wins over the weekend, this time at the Cuesta College Conoco/Phillips Crossover tournament in San Luis Obispo. The Golden Eagles opened the two-day event with a 110-21 rout of Hartnell College on Thursday and closed it out with a 71-64 win over host Cuesta to win the tournament championship on Friday.
Against Hartnell, West Hills was up 27-6 after the first quarter and held a commanding 58-9 advantage at halftime.
West Hills played a more competitive game against Cuesta on Friday. The Golden Eagles nailed 10 three-pointers, including six by Sade Booker-Honeycutt on her way to a game-high 32 points.
Jada Heights added 12 points and Jada Quintero Haro came off the bench to chip in with 9 points and 4 rebounds. Audrey Gonzalez Alvarez contributed 7 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Booker-Honeycutt was named the tournament Most Valuable Player while Heights and Gonzalez Alvarez were selected to the all-tournament team.
West Hills has won four straight games to improve to 7-1 overall. The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday (Dec. 10) when they travel to Bakersfield College for a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
