For the third time in the last 5 seasons, Sierra College Women's Basketball earn their spot at the CCCAA State Championship with a 67-59 win over Merced last Saturday. A halftime lead by Sierra was challenged by Merced in the 3rd, before the Wolverines found their groove in the 4th to claim the victory, a spot in the state Elite Eight and a chance to fight for the 2022 CCCAA State Championship in Lemoore, CA March 10-13.

Sierra led the whole first half, entering halftime with a lead of 30-23. But Merced wasn't willing to give up the fight just yet, bouncing back in the third quarter and gaining the lead a few times. The persistence of the Blue Devils wasn't enough for a Sierra defense that held off Merced long enough to come back in the fourth, where some key 3 pointers and free throws secured the Wolverine victory.

With the win, Sierra (NorCal #2) will head to Lemoore, CA for the 2022 CCCAA State Championships, facing Moorpark (SoCal #3) on Thursday, March 10 at 3:00pm. Live video will be available at https://cccaa.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/index
