No. 23-ranked Citrus College got the new year off on a strong foot with a 78-54 victory over Porterville College Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls improve to 10-4 overall with their last non-conference matchup before Western State Conference action begins next week. The Pirates drop to 2-12 on the year.
Gabby Valdez led the Owls with 20 points, while Liz Camargo finished with 18 points and Jolleen Olia added 14 points.
Citrus hits the road to open conference action, heading to Bakersfield College on Jan. 10 for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
