Falcons sweep district rival West Hills Lemoore

COALINGA – Facing district rival West Hills College Lemoore, the Falcons of West Hills College Coalinga came out on top 3-0 in a Central Valley Conference match at home on Wednesday.

The Falcons were dominant in sweeping the Golden Eagles by scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-10 to even up their CVC record at 3-3. West Hills Coalinga improved to 4-5 overall. West Hills Lemoore fell to 3-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Arelis Chavez-Hernandez led a balanced Falcons attack with 7 kills. Lexie Canales had 5 kills and a team-high 8 digs. Jaden Threat also chipped in with 5 kills while Sariya Harris totaled 4 kills and 6 digs.

Alexia Vancil led WHCC with 11 assists while Kalissa Ortega posted 9 assists and 7 digs.

West Hills Coalinga returns to action on Monday (Oct. 10) when the Falcons will host Los Medanos College and Ohlone College in a three-way event. West Hills will play Los Medanos at 1 p.m. and Ohlone at 5 p.m.
