LEMOORE – Freshman Bailee Goforth notched a hat trick with three goals to help lead the Lemoore College women's soccer team to a 4-1 Central Valley Conference win over visiting Clovis Community College on Friday.
The win was the Golden Eagles' first-ever in program history over Clovis, dating back to the Crush's inaugural season in 2016. Lemoore came close in 2019 as the two squads played to a scoreless draw.
On Friday, Goforth gave the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead after her goals in the 15th and 28th minutes. Clovis got one back in the 57th minute before Jackie Pizano scored for the Crush to make it a 3-1 lead in the 61st minute.
Goforth secured her hat trick with a late goal, scoring in the 90th minute, to close out the historic victory.
Denisse Beltran posted 7 saves in goal while Samantha Salinas and Mia Morales provided stellar defense that contributed to the victory.
The Golden Eagles are back in action next Friday (Oct. 4) when they host Fresno City College in a 4 p.m. conference game.
