Women's Soccer Wins Two More CVC Matches

With two shutout victories last week, the Reedley College women's soccer team improved to 10-1-1 on the season. But the 4-1-1 conference record for Coach Onesta Francis' Tigers is only good for a tie for third place in the Central Valley Conference behind Fresno City and Clovis, both at 5-1.

The Tigers travel to Clovis on Tuesday, for the final first-round match before starting the second round of conference action Friday night against Taft College, who they opened CVC play on Sept. 27 with a scoreless tie on the road.

Last week, Reedley blanked College of the Sequoias 2-0 on Oct. 11 before a 4-0 home win over West Hills Lemoore on Friday night. Against WHL, Krysta Casas and Nazira Nunez both had two goals in the win. Casas leads Reedley with 11 goals on the season.

Casas had two second-half goals in the win over COS.

In the latest state poll on Oct. 11, the Lady Tigers were tied for ninth in the state and third in Northern California, behind only third-ranked San Joaquin Delta and fifth-ranked Folsom Lake.
