Overall, Central Valley Conference teams have gotten off to a rough start this season. With a 9-7-1 record (.559 winning percentage), Sequoias is the lone CVC squad playing above .500 heading into to conference play. Fresno City is 6-7 while Reedley checks in at 5-11.

In the most recent (Feb. 24) California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) State Poll, Fresno City checks in at No. 13 as the lone CVC program listed. In the Northern California rankings, FCC holds the No. 7 spot.

CVC Softball Featured Athlete: Kuea Angilau, Porterville College
Sophomore Kuea Angilau is on pace for another big season offensively for the Pirates. In 32 official at bats, the returning All-Northern California selection has totaled 14 hits with 11 walks, 8 home runs, and 18 RBI. Angilau is batting .438 with a .591 on base percentage and a 1.219 slugging percentage. Her home runs and slugging percentage currently rank second in the state.

Angilau recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
