With two games left to play, Sequoias (9-1) leads Fresno City (8-2) by one game. Merced at 6-2, has four games to play and still has a shot at a conference championship as well.

COS is riding an eight-game winning streak and wraps up the regular season with games at Porterville (2-5) on Wednesday and at West Hills Lemoore (5-5) on Friday. The Giants are looking to secure their fifth Central Valley Conference championship over the past five seasons.

"We're getting closer," said Sequoias head coach Ray Alvarado, whose team won outright or shared conference titles in 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015. "We've just got to slow it down and take it one game at a time."

Fresno City is right on COS' heels but is running out of time. FCC closes out the season on the road as well, playing at Reedley (3-6) on Wednesday and at Merced in what could be a big game for both teams.

Merced is at Reedley on Thursday and follows that by hosting the Rams. The Blue Devils will end with consecutive games against Porterville, home on Monday and at PC on Wednesday.
