Taft's Dias named CCCWVCA State Athlete of the Week

An impressive opening weekend for the freshman from Honolulu, Hawaii was rewarded on Monday. Taft College's Jada Dias was named the State Athlete of the Week by the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) after leading the Cougars to a perfect 3-0 start.

From the CCCWVCA press release: "From Hawaii, Dias totaled 42 kills, hit .286, and made 33 digs in helping the Cougars open up a delayed and abbreviated 2020 season in 2021 with three consecutive victories March 5-6. Dias pounded 17 kills and made 21 digs in a thrilling 5-set triumph over Cuesta. She had hit .375 with 15 kills in the season opener v. Antelope Valley and added 10 more kills a second win over AVC. Dias is guided by Taft head coach Kanoe Bandy."
