KNIGHTS SPLIT AT COSUMNES RIVER TRIANGULAR

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team won one out of four matches last week, splitting at the Cosumnes River Triangular in Sacramento and losing both matches of the Sierra Classic.

On the week, sophomore Jennifer Troxclair had 38 kills, Presley Hamilton had 33 kills while Sarah Ault had 76 assists.

Cosumnes River Triangular
The Knights lost to Cosumnes River in four sets 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21 on Wednesday despite three players recording double-digit kills in the match. Hamilton tallied a team-best 11 kills to go with 12 digs while Troxclair had 10 kills. Sarah Ault had a triple-double with 10 kills, 20 assists and 11 digs. Jordan Mewhirter totaled 19 assists and Aliyah Rosado-Cruz had 17 digs.

Against Taft, Shasta won in five sets 25-19, 19-25, 12-25, 25-20, 15-12. The Knights hit .290 or better in three sets and had four players register double-digit kills. Ault had 14 kills and 28 assists, Troxclair had 14 kills and 10 digs, Hamilton had 13 kills and 16 digs and Danielle Stroscher had 13 kills. Mewhirter totaled 21 assists and Rosado-Cruz racked up 25 digs in the win.

Sierra Classic
The Knights were swept by Sierra 25-16, 25-16, 25-13, totaling 20 kills compared to 15 hitting errors in the match. Ault and Olivia Sladek each had five kills, Mewhirter and Ault each had six assists and Mewhirter had a team-best nine digs.

Shasta lost to Hartnell in three sets 25-21, 26-24, 25-18 with Troxclair leading the way with nine kills. Hamilton had eight kills and Ault dished 22 assists to go with eight digs. Rosado-Cruz had a team-best 10 digs.

Shasta (3-5) plays De Anza and Sacramento City on Wednesday.
