CLOVIS – Clovis Community College earned its first point of the 2023 season after playing visiting Feather River College to a scoreless draw in the Crush's home opener on Thursday.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net as both squads' defenses and goalkeepers were solid throughout the contest.
Sophomore goalkeeper Peter Vainauskas was credited with his first shutout of the season.
The tie came two days Clovis suffered a 3-0 loss in its season opener at Folsom Lake College on Tuesday.
The Crush (0-1-1) will look to pick up their first win on Friday (Sep. 8) when they host Hartnell College at 4 p.m. The game will be preceded by the Clovis women's soccer team taking on Santa Rosa Junior College at 1:30 p.m.
