The Folsom Lake Falcons emerged victorious in a dramatic 1-1 match against the Taft Cougars, clinching the win 4-2 in a penalty shootout after two grueling overtimes on November 23, 2024.
Taft opened the scoring in the 67th minute with a goal from Lisandro Ceja, assisted by John Petryshyn. The Falcons responded swiftly, as Thualfikar Alsakati netted a brilliant unassisted goal in the 72nd minute to level the game at 1-1.
Despite Folsom Lake's offensive dominance, outshooting Taft 12-1, the game remained deadlocked through regulation and two overtimes. Goalkeeper Rommel Tarin of Taft made seven crucial saves to force the game into penalties.
