
PORTERVILLE – Ayana Lopez drove in 3 runs while Tiara Daley had 3 hits to help lead West Hills College Coalinga to an 8-4 win in Game 2 of a Central Valley Conference doubleheader at Porterville College on Tuesday.
The Falcons were able to bounce back after suffering a 12-2 loss in the opener.
Geneva Molina pitched well in the win. She went the distance, allowing 2 earned runs and 8 hits over 7 innings. Molina struck out 2 and walked a pair.
In the batter's box, Josilynn Alvarez (1 for 4) had 2 RBI and Dena Ojeda (2 for 5) added 2 hits and scored twice.
In the Game 1 loss, Ojeda opened the day with a pair of hits (2 for 3) and RBI while Molina also drove in a run and went 2 for 2.
West Hills moved to 9-21 overall and 2-7 in Central Valley Conference play. The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday (Apr. 2) when they host a non-conference doubleheader against College of the Siskiyous, starting a 1 p.m.
