Tiger Baseball Plays In Front Of Record Crowd

Justin Tiger started Sunday's exhibition game at Chukchansi Park with a single but was quickly erased on a double play.
That's the way things have been going for Reedley as the Tigers suffered their eighth straight loss in a 5-2 loss to Fresno City College before a California Community College record crowd of 1,702 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

It was the 12th straight win for the Rams, who lead the Central Valley Conference by three and a half games with an overall record of 22-5. Just about three weeks ago, the Tigers were ranked 14th in the state, one spot behind Fresno. At this writing, they are 15-13 overall, 6-8 in CVC action, good for fifth place in the seven-team conference.

Reedley began a three-game series with West Hills of Coalinga on April 5 at home before traveling to Coalinga on Thursday and then hosting the Falcons on Saturday at 1 pm. In non-conference action, Reedley hosts Bakersfield College at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 12 before heading to Kern County for a single game the next day.

The Sunday game was scoreless until the Rams touched Austin Beno (0-1) for three runs (two earned) in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Reedley was held to four hits but scored twice in the eighth. But the Rams scored two of their own in the inning. Roman Rosales led the Tiger attack with a double and a single.

On Thursday, Reedley dropped a doubleheader to Santa Rosa Junior College by scores of 17-5 and 3-2 at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton. Rosales hit a two-run homer to lead the offense in the first game while Isaiah Ochoa drove in two runs. In the seven inning second game, Santa Rosa erased a 2-0 Tiger lead with two runs in the sixth. Justin Tiger recorded half of Reedley's six hits.
