Women's Soccer Finishes 2021 With A Road Victory

The Reedley College women's soccer Tigers finished the 2021 season with a 3- 1 victory over Merced College on Nov. 9 and a 3-0 win over West Hills Lemoore on Friday.

Head Coach Onesta Francis's team ended up in fourth place in the Central Valley Conference with a 5-7 record and we're 9-8-1 overall.

On Friday, goalies Lucy Chavez and Kashmir Baker recorded four saves in the shutout win. Gloria Sevilla opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before second-half goals by Emily Gonzalez and Isabella Salcedo.

On Sophomore night on Nov. 8 in Reedley, the Tigers fell behind in the first half before roaring back with three goals within a 12-minute span of the second half. Evelyn Martinez opened the RC scoring in the 56th minute before Sumiko Sunamoto put them ahead seven minutes later. Martinez scored her second goal of the night at the 68th-minute mark.

Sophomores honored before the match were Martha Lopez, Adalene Velasco, Destiny Gonzalez, Sunamoto, and Chavez.
