Clovis Community College sophomore Tyler Ferguson scored an early goal but the Crush couldn't hold the narrow lead and had to settle for a 1-1 tie with visiting Cosumnes River College on Tuesday in Clovis.
The Crush are on a break from Central Valley Conference action, playing the first of three non-conference games. With the draw, Clovis moved to 4-9-1 overall.
On Tuesday, Ferguson gave the Crush a quick lead as he scored in the 10th minute off the assist Manuel Gonzalez. For Ferguson, it was his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
The score remained 1-0 all the way until the 70th minute when the visiting Hawks got the equalizer. Goalkeeper Cresencio Arreola and the defense played well for the Crush, limiting Cosumnes River to the lone goal.
The Crush are back in action on Friday (Oct. 22) when they travel to San Joaquin Delta College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
