Porterville College defeated Antelope Valley 4-3 on Thursday to avoid being swept by the Marauders. Gio Chavez went 3 for 4 at the plate and drove in Colton Isom in the bottom of the ninth inning with the winning run. Jonah Ward also went 3 for 4 at the plate with a run scored. Jonathan Delgado drove in two runs and Tyson Tellez was 1 for 3 and an RBI. Colton Isom got the win in relief throwing a scoreless ninth inning.
On Tuesday, Antelope Valley took two games from the Pirates. In the first game PC scored nine runs on eleven hits but it was not enough, as Antelope Valley scored 22 runs. Ivan Arias led Porterville going 4 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI and a run scored and Jordan Walkup was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
In game two on Tuesday, PC dropped an 8-1 decision. Tyson Tellez was 2 for 4 with a run scored and Gio Chavez was 1 for 3 with an RBI.
The Pirates are 10-16 overall and 5-7 in conference.
Porterville will be home against Reedley College and Tuesday, March 25 at 2:00 PM and Saturday, March 29th at 1:00 PM.
