Merritt double-double leads West Hills to win over Reedley

COALINGA --- Jabari Merritt recorded his second consecutive double-double and 12th overall of the season with 32 points and 19 rebounds to help lead West Hills College Coalinga to an 88-69 Central Valley Conference win over visiting Reedley College on Monday.

The Falcons snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 7-12 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Merritt shot 14 for 19 in the contest to tie his season-high of 32 points. He added 7 assists and 5 steals.

Four other Falcons scored in double figures. Issifou Kimba posted a double-double of his own with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Devion Edwards (5 rebounds) and Fredery Cuello (6 assists) both scored 12 points each and Derrick Barnes chipped in with 10 points, 6 steals, and 5 assists.

WHCC returns to action on Wednesday (Feb. 2) when the Falcons are scheduled to travel to Reedley for a 5 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
