Late-game collapse prevents Falcons from series sweep

Sunday afternoon's series finale looked like another Folsom Lake win in the making with the Falcons ahead 9-3 after six innings.  But the roof caved in on the Falcon pitching and the Cougars rallied for five runs in the 7th, one in the 8th, and five more in the 9th to take a 14-9 lead.  A Falcon rally in the 9th produced two runs and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with the tying run at the plate before Taft got the final out for the 14-11 win.  Offensively, the Falcons recorded 10 extra-base hits, including a double, triple, and homer and 3 RBI by third baseman Logan Sutter JT Walden had two triples among his three hits, and Jared Breedwell was 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored.

The Falcons will travel to Los Angeles on Wednesday for a 3-games series at L.A. Valley College (Thur-Sat).
