Men's Basketball Falls To Ohlone

A former Kings River Community College basketball player came back to Reedley as a coach on Friday night.

Sherman Holmes, who starred as a Tiger in the 88-89 and 89- 90 season under Keith Hughes, coached the Ohlone College Renegades to a 69-64 victory over the Reedley College Tigers on Saturday night.

The loss dropped coach TJ Jennings' squad to 1-4 on the young season while Ohlone fell to 2-3 after an 82-51 loss to Fresno City College on Saturday.

In the Friday night game, Reedley jumped out to an early 10-0 lead before Ohlone bounced back to take a 33-30 halftime lead.

Sophomore Dwayne Howell had nine of his team-high 17 points in the first half to lead the Tigers. Jamar Bowers followed with 16.

This Saturday, the Tigers host Canada College at 3 pm before traveling to Foothill College on Monday.

All fans at Tiger home games must show proof of covid vaccine shots or negative test results within 72 hours prior to entry. Masks are required in all indoor facilities.
