CLOVIS – Freshman Aaron Carrillo scored twice as part of a four-goal second half explosion by the Clovis Community College men's soccer team as the Crush defeated visiting West Hills College Lemoore by a final score of 4-0 on Friday.
The Central Valley Conference win improved the Crush to 2-6-3 overall and 1-1-1 in the CVC.
After a scoreless first half, Clovis' offense came alive in the second.
Zach Rodriguez opened it up with his first goal of the season in the 57th minute. David Valencia knocked in his first of the season as well to extend the Crush lead to 2-0 in the 67th minute. Rodriguez then iced the Clovis victory with goals in the 81st and 86th minutes for his first and second scores of the year.
Goalkeeper Peter Vainauskas and the Crush defense posted their fourth shutout of the season.
The Crush return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 10) when they travel to College of the Sequoias for a 2 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
