Tiger Softball Shutout By FCC

With five home games coming up on the schedule, the Reedley College Tiger softball team hopes to bounce back from a shutout loss to Fresno City College last Thursday in the Central Valley Conference opener for both teams.
Stephanie Garcia (Reedley) and Brianna Duncan (Immanuel, Kingsburg) combined to hold the Tigers to five hits. The closest the Tigers came to scoring came in the third inning when Ellie Montalvo doubled, moving Alyssa Aguilar to third. But Garcia, who allowed five hits in five innings, retired Sienna Esquivel to end the inning.
Fresno finished with 11 hits off Annabelle Buchanan, who allowed four earned runs in the contest. Reedley finished with four errors, three in the outfield.
The 6-8 Tigers were scheduled to host West Hills Coalinga on March 8 but the doubleheader was canceled as the Falcons dropped their softball program. College of the Sequoias comes to Tiger Diamond for a 2 pm before Bakersfield travels to Reedley for an 11 am Saturday matchup before Monterey Peninsula College takes on the Tigers at 3 pm. Conference action resumes on March 15 when Taft visits Tiger Country for a 1 pm twin-bill.
