Falcons stun host Fresno with 3-0 playoff win

The #10 seeded Folsom Lake softball team took the first game of their best-of-three opening playoff series in Fresno on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 win over #7 Fresno City.  Falcon pitcher Adriana Gonzalez was brilliant, throwing a 3-hit shutout while striking out 11 and walking just one. The Falcons scored all their runs in the second inning when they strung together a walk and four singles.  Sachi Reyes drove in one run with a single to left field, then Taylor Eby followed that with a 2-run single to center.  With a three-run lead to work with, Gonzalez shut down the Rams without allowing a single baserunner past second base.

The Falcons and Rams will resume the series at 12 noon on Saturday.  If a game three is necessary, it will be played 30 minutes following the conclusion of game two.
