Men's Basketball Wins Two Of Three On The Road

With four games remaining before the start of conference play, the Reedley College Tiger men's basketball team may have turned things around last weekend in Sacramento.
Coach T.J. Jennings took his team to his hometown and won two out of three games in the James Clark Classic in the Sacramento suburb of Elk Grove at Cosumnes River College as the Tigers improved to 4-6 on the season.

Two of those four non-conference games will be played this week as the College of the Redwoods (6-2, the best record in the Golden Valley Conference) comes to Reedley Wednesday night (Dec. 8) before the Tigers head to Ridgecrest Saturday to face Cerro Coso Community College. Cerro Coso is 7-2, the best record in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference.

Last week, the Tigers were boosted by the return of guard Anthony Martinez. All Martinez did was score 65 points in the three games, which included a 25-point performance against the tournament host Cosumnes River Chiefs.
Reedley opened the tournament with a 64-60 win on Thursday with a 64-60 win over Sacramento City before being edged by a 9-1 Las Positas squad Friday. The team followed Saturday's 76-73 victory over Cosumnes River with a visit to Golden 1 Center to watch the Sacramento Kings defeat the Los Angeles Clippers.

"It was a good weekend for us," said the coach. Makhi Turner and Dwayne Howell each had 15 points in the Saturday win.
