After a rough outing in its opening game, the San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team was looking for a bounce back game in Tuesday night's home opener.

Unfortunatley for the Wolverines, not enough of the bounces went their way inside SBVC Stadium.

A 28-yard free kick strike by Taft College's Delia Bocanegra in the 60th minute deflected off of goalkeeper Haley Weghorst's hands into the top corner of the SBVC net, giving the visiting Cougars a 1-0 victory.

The Wolverines outshot the visitors 12-7 in the game, with much of the action taking place in the middle of the field - both teams looking for control throughout. SBVC had a couple of chances on the Taft net, but goalkeeper Natalia Navarro stopped all six shots on goal she faced. Weghorst ended the game with five saves.
