Reedley advances to State Championships with second-place regionals finish

MONTEREY – Reedley College shot a two-round 765 to finish in second place, just three strokes back of tournament host and winner Monterey Peninsula College (762), at the 2022 Northern California Regional Championships on Monday. The event was held at the prestigious Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey.

With its second-place showing, Reedley has qualified for the CCCAA Men's Golf State Championships set to take place on May 16 at the Saboba Springs Golf Course in San Jacinto. The Tigers will be making their seventh consecutive appearance at the state championships.

Reedley shot an opening-round 376 to take the lead at the regionals but couldn't hold off MPC in the afternoon round.

Emil Eriksson led Reedley with his third-place finish, shooting a two-round 148. He was followed by Cole Obrigewitsch in third at 148.

Fresno City College had a pair earn top-10 finishes as Vinny Bengston tied for seventh place with 155 and Nick Schulz finished tied for ninth at 156.
