Fresno City wins third straight conference title; CVC announces 2024 postseason awards

Fresno City College captured its third straight Central Valley Conference men's soccer championship after the Rams compiled a 6-1-3 record. For Fresno City, it was the program's eighth conference title since 2015 (2024, 2023, 2022, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015).

The Rams narrowly edged out second-place Taft at 5-1-4 for the 2024 championship.  Merced was third at 5-2-3, followed by Sequoias (3-3-4), Clovis (1-4-5), and Lemoore (0-9-1). | FINAL STANDINGS

The CVC was represented by five schools in the Northern California Regionals Playoffs. Fresno City was the top-seeded squad at No. 6, followed by No. 8 Merced, No. 13 Taft, No. 20 Sequoias, and No. 23 Clovis.

Merced reached the fourth round of the playoffs but came up just short of advancing to the state championships. After playing CaƱada to a scoreless tie, Merced fell in penalty kicks by a final score of 5-4.

GOALKEEPERS of the Year: Andres Garcia, Merced; Sebastian Aguilar, Clovis
FRESHMEN OF THE YEAR: Lupe Fernandez, Fresno City; Marcos Samaniego, Clovis; Dwayne Ewing, Merced
COACH OF THE YEAR: Eric Solberg, Fresno City
