BOSTON – For the third consecutive year, Clovis Community College head coach CJ Albertson left his mark at one of the most prestigious running events in the world. On Tuesday, Albertson ran 2:10.33 to finish in 12th place overall at the 127th annual Boston Marathon.

Although it should shock no one now, Albertson again kept pace with the leading pack all the way up until the 16th mile of the 26.2-mile race. He eventually fell back but ended as the fourth American runner to cross the finish line.

Albertson finished 10 seconds off his personal-best time of 2:10.23 set at last year's Boston Marathon. In 2021, he seemingly came out of nowhere to lead the race all the way until Mile 20 but still took 10th overall at 2:11.44 to garner national attention.

Albertson next has his sights set on the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on February 3 in Orlando, Fla. But back home, he's leading the Clovis Crush track and field teams towards the Central Valley Conference Championships scheduled for April 30.
