With a nearly perfect 14-1 record, Fresno City College captured the 2022 Central Valley Conference championship. The Rams have won back-to-back conference titles and three over the past six seasons (2016, 2021, 2022).

Fresno City won its first 11 conference games on its way to the championship and outscored its CVC opponents by an impressive 125-28 margin. The Rams' lone loss came at second-place Merced College on April 5 as the Blue Devils rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to steal the victory.

Merced put together a strong season in conference play and finished at 11-4. Rounding out the final CVC standings were College of the Sequoias (6-9), Porterville College (5-10), Taft College (5-10), and Reedley College (4-11).

As the Central Valley Conference champion, Fresno City earned the CVC's automatic bid into the postseason and was named the No. 7 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Runner up Merced received an at large bid and is the No. 15 seed.

Fresno City (32-7) will host No. 10 Folsom Lake College (20-20) in a best-of-three regional playoffs series that begins on Friday, May 6. Game 2 and 3, if necessary, is scheduled for Saturday (May 7).

Merced (18-17) travels to No. 2 Butte College (39-1) for its three-game playoff set and will look to score a huge upset.

The winners advance to the second round/Super Regionals on May 13-15 with the CCCAA State Championships scheduled for May 19-22 at Bakersfield College.
