CVC CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

MERCED – Led by two-time Swimmers of the Meet Joshy Peters and Jillian Lambert, College of the Sequoias continued its domination in the pool by capturing both the men's and women's titles at the 2023 Central Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships. The three-day event was hosted by Merced College.

The COS men won 15 of 24 events and totaled 2056 points to easily outdistance host Merced in second place with 1359. Shasta College was third at 1038 points, followed by Clovis Community College in fourth with 164.

On the women's side, the Giants were victorious in 14 of 21 events on their way to a final team score of 1769 points. Merced was second (859 points), followed by Shasta (728), Fresno City College (484), and Clovis (415).

COS nearly collected every postseason award at the meet. Peters totaled eight gold medals on his way to Male Swimmer of the Meet, Easton Farmer was named Male Diver of the Meet after winning the 1- and 3-meter dive events, and Ally Briano was selected the Men's Coach of the Year.

Lambert outpaced the women with eight gold medals on her way to Female Swimmer of the Meet honors while Caleb Hamilton was tabbed the Women's Coach of the Year. Shasta's Ellie Radville prevented a COS sweep as she was named the Female Diver of the Meet after taking the 3-meter event.

Up next are the CCCAA State Championships on May 4-6 at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park.
