West Hills College Lemoore statement: 

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of West Hills College Lemoore men's basketball head coach Donnye Ross. In 2018, Coach Ross became WHCL's first men's basketball coach.  He had over 29 years experience coaching basketball at the community college and high school levels.  Before coming to WHCL, he worked in several high schools and coached at Los Angeles City College, Skyline College, Cosumnes River College, and Imperial Valley College. Coach Ross will be remembered for his passion for the game, but more importantly, for his passion for higher education and the students he coached and served. 

"Coach Ross bravely battled cancer with the same determination and optimism that he approached the game he loved," said Interim Athletic Director Andrea Picchi. "Our college, department, and the members of the CCCAA will miss him greatly. We send our deepest condolences to the Ross family."
