Freshman Jazlynne Medrano scored a game-high 22 points but the Porterville College was outshot by Chaffey College and suffered a 74-63 loss to the Panthers in Ranch Cucamonga on Tuesday night.

Porterville shot 42 percent (22 of 52) from the field but nine of Chaffey 28 shots made in the contest went for three points, which proved to be the difference.

Medrano was excellent in just her third collegiate game. She shot 6 of 11 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers on her way to a career-high in scoring. Medrano added four rebounds and four assists.

Mia Pengilly had another solid game for the Pirates, posting a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cienna Enriquez had a good all-round game with 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

PC, now 0-3, returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 13) when the Pirates host Mission College of Santa Clara in a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
