WALLEN, PADILLA LEAD KNIGHTS TO TWO WINS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's women's basketball team won the Shasta College Invitational by beating Porterville 61-37 and Lassen 74-57 to stretch their winning streak to seven games.

Sophomore Riley Wallen averaged 19.5 points across the two games to lead Shasta in scoring while Isabela Padilla had double-digit rebounds in both contests.

The Knights jumped out to a 40-15 halftime lead against Porterville and cruised the rest of the way. Three players scored in double figures with Riley Wallen leading the way with 17 points. Isabela Padilla had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, Megan Collins added 10 points, nine assists and four steals and Amber Wallace scored eight points to go with 13 boards.

In the win over Lassen, Shasta took a 21-4 lead after the opening period and doubled up the Cougars' score in the third 24-12 to pull away. Wallen dropped 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds, Amber Wallace grabbed 16 boards to go with 10 points and Collins had an all-around game of 10 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Padilla had eight points and 10 rebounds, Kaleia Mizuta chipped in with nine points and Lexi Robbins scored eight points off the bench.

Shasta (8-2) faces Merritt and Diablo Valley College in the Shasta College Crossover next week.
